Bali has always been everyone’s tropical dreams 🏝🌊

Suluban Beach is located in Pecatu village, just north of the famous sea temple of Uluwatu on the Bukit peninsula off southern Bali. Most people are already aware of the area’s Padang Padang and Dreamland beaches. The north side of the beach, catering to the surfers, is an uncrowded stretch of sand hidden under the rocks.

Suluban extends right up to Uluwatu Beach and is accessible down some 40 meters of steps. There are two entrances, one from the left side and the other directly from Jl. Pantai Suluban. The one from Blue Point is better because the stairs are less steep, you can stop to rest during the descent.

Suluban is said to be one of Bali’s best surf spots and is mainly visited by surfers whom you can watch out at sea waiting to catch the perfect wave. Even during high tides when the surf is up, the white sand beach is still accessible. Also popular with sunbathers who like the relatively clean beach. The beach is unusually narrow in places and enclosed by cliff sides. At low tide in the mid-afternoon, a huge natural swimming pool is formed. Wade around the coral pools during low tide as the water recedes some 200 meters, exposing the rocks and seaweed where you’ll see the locals fishing.

Up to today (13 May 2020), Bali Island itself has 328 covid-19 cases, 215 recovered and 4 death cases.

School, beaches, and tourist attractions remained closed.

Updates on Immigration rules in response to Covid-19

11 May 2020 - The Directorate General of Immigration has informed through its official social media for holders of expired ITAS/ ITAP and MREP staying outside Indonesia are allowed to enter Indonesia. This information has been stated on Minister of Law and Human Rights Regulation No. 11 of 2020 on Temporary Restriction of Foreigners Entering Indonesia - article five. “Foreigners whose Temporary Stay Permit (ITAS) or Permanent Stay Permit (ITAP) is expired and/or cannot be extended, will automatically be granted a deferral with Emergency Stay Permit (ITKT) without an application process at Immigration Offices.” However, the visitors would still need to provide some requirements and follow protocols of incoming passengers during Covid-19 outbreak:

Possessing a valid health certificate (in English language) issued by Health/Medical Authority of the respective country;

Having been residing for at least 14 (fourteen) days in a region/ country with no confirmed cases of Covid-19;

Statement of compliance to undertake quarantine measures for 14 (fourteen) days conducted by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia.

Another good news for those who have already obtained a visa approval (visa telex) or have been granted a visa but it has been expired due to travel restrictions or unavailability of public transportation during the pandemic; The Directorate General of Immigration has declared to automatically re-validate your visa.

Bali will be safe to visit again soon.
